Baltimore Woods Nature Center, headquartered at our Baltimore Woods preserve, manages the trails and habitats at Baltimore Woods for Save the County. BWNC also runs environmental education programs for children, schools, adults and families at the nature center and other off-site locations. By collaborating with BWNC, STC can stay focused on its important mission to acquire important natural areas. BWNC's focus on environmental education, land management, and outreach recently earned it the prestigious General Operating Support Award from the federal Institute of Museums and Library Services. The collaboration is a win/win arrangement for both organizations!

The Land Trust Alliance is the national leader of the private land conservation movement promoting voluntary land conservation across the country and providing resources, leadership and training to the nation's 1,200-plus nonprofit, grassroots land trusts, helping them to protect important open spaces.

Founded in 1972, The Trust for Public Land is the only national nonprofit working exclusively to protect land for human enjoyment and well-being. TPL helps conserve land for recreation and spiritual nourishment and to improve the health and quality of life of American communities. TPL was instrumental in helping STC purchase Tracy Lake in the Town of Tully.

The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive. Since 1951, TNC has protected over 92 million acres around the world and has over 1400 preserves. In our small corner of the world, TNC helped launch STC in 1972 with the purchase its very first property, Baltimore Woods, and still continues to provide help in all aspects of land acquisition and stewardship.

The Humane Society of the United States Wildlife Land Trust works with landowners worldwide to protect wild animals by permanently protecting their natural habitats. Lands protected by the Trust provide wild animals with a safe and nurturing environment, free from harmful human interference. Recreational and commercial hunting and trapping and commercial logging are strictly prohibited on Trust-protected sanctuaries. The Wildlife Land Trust currently protects over 60,000 acres on 65 properties in 21 states and four foreign countries. WLT helped STC achieve its 2000 Acres By the Year 2000 goal by giving STC 45 acres in exchange for a conservation easement in the Lake Forest Preserve.

The Adirondack Mountain Club-Onondaga Chapter (ADK-ON) and STC encourage people to enjoy the great outdoors and conserve and protect our green spaces. ADK-ON continually supports STCs mission to acquire important natural areas. ADK-ON is maintaining and building miles of hiking trails in Onondaga, Oswego, Madison and surrounding counties. These well planned and maintained hiking trails are all part of the Finger Lakes Trail, 550 miles long from Allegheny Park to the Catskills, and the North Country National Scenic Trail which when completed will span 4,200 miles from North Dakota to Crown Point, N.Y. The North Country Trail Association, builds, maintains and promotes with the National Park Service the North Country National Scenic Trail.
