Celebrate the Summer Solstice at our Annual
Garden Tour and Plant Sale
If you haven't already made plans for June 21, Save the County
Land Trust is holding its major fundraiser of the year – a day
to celebrate the S ummer Solstice with Garden Tour and Plant Sale
at Sycamore
Hill Gardens,
from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday June 21 at the Hanfords'
private garden at
2130 Old Seneca Turnpike in Marcellus. These 25+ acres of
landscaped gardens and ponds, which are opened to the public
only a few days each year, consist of several ponds with
fountains and colorful koi (large Japanese goldfish which the
children can feed), statuary from all around the world, an
exotic bell garden, evergreen maze, hundreds of thousands of
planted flowering bulbs, and hundreds of flowering trees and
shrubs. It is really spectacular, beautiful and very
whimsical.
In addition to the tour there will be a variety of local
musicians and gourmet ice cream sandwiches & Michigan hotdogs
will be available for purchase.
In conjunction with the garden tour, Save The County will also
hold a plant and tree sale. The plants and trees available for
sale do not come from Sycamore Hill Gardens but instead come
from area gardeners who have made donations from their own local
gardens. The items for sale consist primarily of perennials and
native plants trees and shrubs. The plant and tree sale will be
held across the street from the garden tour and there is no
admission fee for the plant sale. If you would like to donate
items from your garden to the sale, please use the contact
information below to notify Save The County.
This event is held rain or shine. Tickets are $5 advanced sale,
$8 at the door, no charge for children 12 and under, and
group
rates are available. All proceeds generously go to Save the
County Land Trust.
