Nine ways to support Save the County

Cash
Your cash gift is deductible from your adjusted gross income.

Land
Donations of land are frequently made in order to protect a unique or simply beloved natural area where future protection in private hands may be in doubt. All such offers are referred to STC's Land Protection Committee for evaluation.

Gifts of Stocks and Bonds
For full tax benefits, your broker can electronically transfer securities to STC’s broker, or you can send unsigned stock certificates to STC by certified mail.

Life Income Gifts
Gifts of appreciated property can generate income for you with positive tax benefits. One example is a charitable income remainder trust (CRUT)

Bequests
You can reduce inheritance taxes by designating in your will specific gifts of cash, property or a percentage of the remainder of your estate to STC.

Lead Trusts
Property or assets can stay in the family while your gift reduces estate taxes and supports STC

Life Insurance
Designating STC as a beneficiary of a paid-up policy or a new policy helps the organization’s future endowment and provides you with a tax deduction.

Retained Life Estate
You retain occupancy of the property for life, but give your primary or vacation home or farm to STC for its future income.

Personal Property
You can deduct the full fair-market value of gifts of personal property (art, antiques, etc.)

Matching Gifts
Often your gift to STC can be magnified by matching funds from companies and foundations. Check with your company’s human resource office.
